ABOUT US

Erne tours Ltd is located in the historic island town of Enniskillen, midway between Upper and Lower Lough Erne in the heart of Irelands lake district.

Our guided tours among the islands aboard the M.V. Kestrel are normally 1 hour 45 minutes, including a 45 minute stop on the famous Devenish Island Monastic Site with its history dating back to the sixth century and including the best preserved Round Tower in Ireland, Augustinian Abby, church ruins, ancient graveyards and high cross.  There is also a small museum and toilet facilities.

Landmarks on our routes include castles, Portora Royal School and boat club, newly completed luxury waterfront apartment developments and marinas. The abundance of waterside wildlife includes Mallard Ducks, Mute Swans, Grey Herons, Coots, Moorhens, Great Crested Grebe and the colourful Kingfisher.

Within the M.V. Kestrel's fully glazed superstructure, you can forget about the weather.  Relax and enjoy the panoramic view while the crew give a live commentary.  The M.V. Kestrel is a 56 seater, fully glazed traditional waterbus, built in 1976.   On board facilities include provision of hot and cold drinks, snacks and a licensed bar.

All our public sailings depart from the Round 'O' Jetty at Brook Park, Enniskillen, located on the main A46 Belleek/Donegal Road, ten minutes walk from the town centre or Tourist Information Centre.

Brook Park was totally re-designed and improved for the new millennium.  It includes a modern children's play area, a new bandstand with amphitheatre and our excellent Anchorage Coffee Shop with indoor/outdoor seating, tourist information facilities and disabled toilets, etc.  There are excellent car/coach parking facilities and a resident population of Mallard Ducks and Mute Swans.
